Mother Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu, known as Mother Teresa, was born in Skopje and then moved 18 years later to Ireland then India where she lived most of her life. Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation that had over 4,500 nuns that manages homes for people who are dying of HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis. Teresa received several honors, including the 1962 Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and 1979 Nobel Peace Prize.
