Greetings in the name of the Lord. As the Bishop of the Diocese of Fresno (www.dioceseoffresno.org), I am excited to share with you some great news!.
I am excited to share with you about a great historic project underway in our Catholic Diocese. The building of St. Charles Borromeo Church in the Good Shepherd Catholic Parish of Visalia. I am reaching out to you, inviting you to be part of this historic project and to help us with your financial support to ensure this project finishes without debt.
St. Charles will be the largest Catholic Parish Church building in the country. Seating over 3,000 in this beautiful Mission-inspired design. Many have had a hand in the formation of this grand testament to our faith. It was the original vision of Bishop John T. Steinbock.
At this point, you may be asking yourself, why is this Catholic Bishop writing me? He’s not my Bishop. This isn’t my parish! What is expected of me?
Rest assured that first and foremost, I am seeking your prayers for the undertaking of such a grand project. Please understand that when finished, St. Charles Borromeo Church will be a place that will be part of pilgrimages to visit great catholic places of worship. It will meet the expanding needs of this large parish, but also help to build the kingdom of God. The project has also earned positive national recognition for taking such a bold step.
I am reminded of Acts 28:31 – Proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all the boldness and without hindrance.
I can’t think of many things bolder than building the largest Catholic Parish Church, here in our own diocese. To raise the funds to build such an endeavor, approximately $20 million, makes this a diocesan endeavor.
We have prepared some great information for you to watch. I encourage you to visit StCharlesVisalia.org and learn more about this endeavor. My prayer is that you will also embrace this project, first with your prayers, and then a pray that the Holy Spirit will inspire you with a generous financial contribution of (see the suggestions on the right).
Thank you in advance for your support.
May God Bless You!
Bishop Joseph V. Brennan, D.D.
